Physical anthropology meets orthodontics in Brooklyn Heights and on the web

     Dr. Ted Rothstein has provided patient care for more than 6000 patients over the course 30 years at his office on 35 Remsen St. in Brooklyn Heights, where the view of Liberty Lady and the skyscrapers of downtown Manhattan are breathtaking even to longtime residents of the area.

    Known by most all of his patients as "Dr. Ted," few of them realize that he is one of the rare "double-degree" doctors holding a second degree-- a Ph.D., in physical  anthropology well earned at the University of Pennsylvania in 1971.

    The link between anthropology and orthodontics is as tightly connected as the braces as he bonds on your teeth to straighten them.   His  anthropological doctoral dissertation was the largest computerized study of its kind ever done and showed without doubt for the first time the way in which deviant growth of the  teeth and jaws caused patients to develop His work helped to establish the norms that orthodontists use to diagnose and treat  bad bites especially when the jaw bones are involved.
