12 reasons why a dentist should consider becoming a member of DPOJW *
*Dentist Provider of Orthodontic Jaw Wiring (Associated)

Dedicated to Dr. Gerald Samson:-)

1.  You are a dentist who believes the "risk / benefit" ratio of OJW would be inside your "comfort zone."
2.  You strongly  believe dentists are guardians of the mouth and the TM joint and are well positioned in helping the overweight.

3.  Your are a dentist who is quite capable of bonding a bracket to a tooth.
4.  You believe that providing this service would enhance your image in the community in which you practice.
5.  You believe that OJW is effective and safe.
6.  You believe dentists are professional health providers who should be helping the overweight.
7.  You know your dental license is not in jeopardy.
8.  You are not overweight or obese, nor are your staff members, and therefore offering OJW in your office would not bring undesirable and embarrassing attention to you or your staff members
9.   If you feel strongly that OJW is relatively safe to provide and puts you at no greater risk liability-wise than you are already.
10. If you have compassionate feelings regarding the facts of compulsive overeating.
11. You don't mind having more patients.

12  You believe that the new DDS System clears the way for dentists to provide services to the overweight and being a DPOJW gives you still another tool to help them.

11 reasons why a dentist should not consider becoming a member of DPOJW

1. You feel you have more patients now than you will ever want or need.

3. You are not Internet savvy (almost all of the paper work is transmitted via the internet).

4. You are sure your dental license will be in jeopardy for providing this service.
5  If you are a dentist who is overweight or obese and don't want to bring any more attention to that fact than is necessary.

6. Your staff members are overweight or obese and sensitive to the idea that OJW in your office will bring  undesirable and embarrassing attention to them.*

7. If you feel the additional "paperwork" will be undesirable or not worth the effort.

8. If you feel your staff will not be comfortable in promoting or working along side you as you provide the OJW service.

9. If you feel that it will take away a substantial amount of time from your practice, or you will not have enough demand for OJW to make the time profitable.

10. You are not computerized.

11. You are certain that the DDS System and OJW detracts from the "image" of dentistry.
