OFFICE PASSIONS
To be read at the opening of each staff meeting

Remember you are part of team that is trying to deliver the best patient-care possible.

If this were your business/office would you do that? Would you want your staff doing that?

 "Our priority is caring for our patients and our mission is quality care". Remember this above all when you are doing your job.

Think of our patients as you would a good friend who is coming to visit you. Would you want them to see your house in disorder, of course not!

 Say hello and goodbye to patients using their name, no matter what your doing!

Come out from behind desk and spend a few minutes in waiting room with our patients.

If DrTed has fallen behind the schedule and patients are waiting let them know you and DrTed are aware of it. Offer to get them a snack or drink on us.

Remember what it was like when you were a patient of mine. Patients have fears, real and imagined, so do your best to be a comfort to them.

 Say your name when answering the phone (and smile too). Speak very clearly.

Always get the name of the person you spoke to when taking care of business for the office. DOCUMENTATION!

Don't wear black sneakers it's not professional and always wear your name-wear.

 Turn off the lights when you leave a room when it's not being used-it's not for us it's for the earth! Don't leave disorder behind you.

If you eat in the office remember to spray the office with an air refreshener after your done and take out trash. Same for the lab and dark room. Nobody wants to clean up after you.

Just Before a new patient enters the treatment room spray the air with an air refreshener.

After the consultation for the younger children take them into the records room and show them how the records are going to be taken. Parents are extremely appreciative when you try to lessen the element of fear and anxiety their children have.

Vacuum the rugs and take out the trash at the end of every day.

 Have a Good and Welfare prepared for every staff meeting. Your ideas to provide a better service to patients are essential.

Leave them smiling. Never let a braces removal pass without a celebration party even if it's small.

DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS! What the patient perceives is the truth they will pass on to the people they recommend us to. Ps. Patients see everything.

Acknowledge emails with an email back. Emails are now the second most important form of communication in this office. (1st is voice in office).

When you get an email from DrTed respond even if your response is only a simple "Ok".

Follow up on everything you do i.e. phone calls, faxes, orders placed, and contacts w/ patients. Integrity is doing what you say you are going to do.

 Punctuality is the politeness of princes, so come on time for work.

Think ahead. Luck favors the prepared.

Give the business cards we prepared for you to your friends and relatives. Your not selling braces your selling yourself!

Rules are just guidelines. Bend them to fit the circumstances as need may be when you are doing your jobs.

Accept change with open arms. Blessed are those who are flexible for they can never be bent out of shape!

What you hear here and see here should stay here when you leave here!
 

Help each other with all your might. Get to know the patients they will tell you things they would never tell DrTed.

If a patient offers to make payment always accept.
