Dear Expert, Your opinion is valuable. There are many options available
for tooth whitening both do-it-yourself over the counter remedies and
treatments provided by Dentists. I want real results quickly and am
considering between OTC and professional intervention. Do you have some
suggstions on both options? Thanks in advance!

The problem with the OTC method, is the variation of the end result and
safty because it is self applied. The most reliable method is the
professionally applied system. You should consult your family dentist.
He/she will be able to provide you with the most consistant, safe and
effective method. I would advise against the OTC. |

The most predictable results are provided by the dentist. A custom made tray
to keep the material only on the teeth is a must, compared to the over the
counter products. Crest white strips do a nice job for the price. But they
are not totally predictable. A dentist will be able to custom tailor a
program for you, and help control the degree of whiting obtained. |

Absolutely, in my opinion, do not go with an over the counter tooth
whitening product. The best results, both from a whitening and stability
aspect, are obtained with professional tooth whitening. Also, studies have
shown professional tooth whitening last longer than an over the counter
whitening process. In addition, if you have any problems with the process, a
professional is the only one who can help the situation with confidence.
Bottom line, you get what you pay for. |
